Presidency Reacts to Outrageous SSS Appointments

The Presidency has reacted to reports of the lopsided appointments made the Nigeria State Security Service where the president’s home state had 55 candidates compared to 44 from all the southern states combined.
An unsigned statement, distributed to journalists said that the appointments were to correct the anomaly of previous appointments in the service.
However, the neither the author of the statement nor the SSS Director, Lawal Daura, who is from the same katsina State and said to be a relative of the president provided any records of past appointments.
A breakdown of the newly commissioned cadet officers on geopolitical basis shows that 165 are from the North-west, about four times more than new cadets from the South-south (42).
The figures for the other zones are North-east 100, North-central 66, South-west 57 and South-east 44.
