Towards 2019: The Kwankwassiya Candidature…How Prepared is Rabiu Kwankwaso?

One candidate who may change the narrative in the heat -up to 2019 is former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Kwankwaso is regarded as tested by his many achievements as governor and respected for his political maturity and experience. His acceptance was glaring when In 2015, he came second during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary.
(APC) presidential primary.
Kwankwaso is also seen as fair in his dealings. Word out there has it that he never goes back on his promise and rewards good work and loyalty unlike other politicians who dump their supporters once their goal is aachieved.
All eyes are on Rabiu Kwankwaso as the political climate warms up towards 2019.
While other politicians have taken their subtle campaigns to media space, Kwankwaso is rather building aa solid grassroot movement and feelers have it that he has tons of groups working for him and winning converts to the Kwankwassiyya movement with its adopted red and white colour.
Many also have joined the movement according to street talk, people feel his ex-deputy governor who he worked into power as governor having been the only governor who handed over to his deputy, Abdullahi Ganduje betrayed him in a most cruel manner. He therefore has sympathy on this level.
Though he has sent in feelers that he would contest if President Buhari does not run again, there are strong indications that wherever the wind blows, Kwankwaso will declare his intentions to run for president early 2018.
There are strong signals that the former governor may run under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and political watchers say the PDP will do well to welcome him back if only to cash in on his solid grassroot machinery and indeed the confidence of the north in him.
