The Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi Lamido, Emir Muhammad Sanusi 11, must pack his belongings and be out of Kano State within the next 24hours.
The Emir who was dethroned Monday after an executive council meeting, cannot be in Kano State henceforth, according to traditions.
The dethronement of Emir Sanusi who has been involved in a heated battle of wits with the state governor, did not come as a surprise to Nigerians.
Kano indigines believe the Emir was set up for ridicule by the state government which allegedly wanted to also charge him for stealing.
Sources allege that the deposed Emir outwitted the government as he proved to be too intelligent to be caught in their trap.
Sanusi cannot appeal his deposition because the governor has the power to remove him under the law. All traditional rulers are under the control of local government chairmen but only the governor has the power to appoint or remove any such ruler.
My source from Kano says another Emir will be appointed in the next 24-30hours as nature does not allow for vacuum, so Sanusi must move out and relocate to another State, fast.
The deposed Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi has been banished to Nasarawa where he will spend the rest of his life.
Meanwhile, reports coming in has it that the deposed emir has been arrested by security agents after a long stand off and banished to Nassarawa state where he is expected to spend the rest of his days, he is now being led to his new abode.
