As part of his efforts of cushioning the economic effects of COVID -19 on his people, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Wednesday, flagged off the official distribution of palliative packages to the poorest of the poor in Ibadan South East Local Government and Ibadan South LCDA.
Engr. Seyi Makinde was represented by the Chairman Pace Setter Transport service, Hon. Dare Adeleke, the Honourable Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Prof. Daud Sangodoyin, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige and the Permanent Secretary, Min. of Women Affairs which was held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
The event, hosted by the duo of the Caretaker Chairmen of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Alawode Emmanuel Oluwole and Ibadan South LCDA, Alhaja Kehinde Eboda was orderly as the recipients received their packages. It is observed that social distancing was maintained and all other precautionary measures adherred to by both state officials and the public.
Also at the event were the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Lekan Balogun, Liaison Affairs to the Gov. for Ibadan South East/North East Federal constituency, Hon. Yaya Akinbile, Hon. Fatai Adesina, Hon. Dele Ojo, President of the Grade ‘C’ Customary Court, Mapo, Chief Odunade Adekola, PDP leaders in Ibadan South East Local Government and members across the local government, representatives of the community development council, religious leaders.
Engnr Makinde has since the recording of the first index case in Oyo State, swung into action to make sure the state was ready to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
