MY COVID-19 EXPERIENCE (3) -Appreciation Letter to Healthcare Workers in ASOKORO ISOLATION CENTER

It has been two weeks since I got discharged from the ASOKORO ISOLATION CENTER, Abuja, after an event filled 17 day stay, while I was down with the deadly Coronavirus.
It’s been a journey, but I am taking it a day at a time.
I’m regaining my strength day by day, strictly following post – recovery treatment instructions of the doctors who brought me back from the brink of death and treated me back to good health.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the healthcare workers working with the Federal Government, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) the Ministry of Health, Public Health Department, FCT, officers of the WHO, related ministries and private healthcare facilities in Nigeria.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging, and it has put significant pressure on our healthcare system. Nevertheless, our healthcare workers continue to devote their time and energy to contain this pandemic. I am personally humbled by your immense sacrifices, invaluable dedication, commitment and unwavering efforts in managing the COVID-19 pandemic, oftentimes risking your own lives, for the benefit of the nation. I wish to thank our doctors and nurses who have played a vital role in healthcare service delivery in Nigeria.

Most importantly, my sincere gratitude goes again to the fantastic medical team taking care of patients at the Asokoro Isolation Center, Abuja, I cannot thank you enough for your noble contributions and sacrifices.
Please know that your dedication, skills and abilities are so very much appreciated by many in this troubled time.

While most of us are being told to stay home and to use social distancing, these Angels in blue uniform are in the frontline and isolation centers, taking care of those affected by the COVID-19 virus as well as our senior citizens and those with illnesses at the same time.

Without doubt, you are the real heroes of this fight we are in.

Daily, many times during the day, I remember you in prayer, thanking God for giving you the talent to do what you do for humanity and praying that you may remain healthy. I also pray for those who have fallen ill while discharging their duties.

Fellow Nigerians, please join me to appreciate the work and sacrifice our front-line workers put in to keep us safe and healthy, always going above and beyond expectations, putting their lives at risk for us.
