Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olakulehin, Passes On at 90
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin I, has passed away.
First Weekly Magazine gathered that the revered monarch died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, just two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.
Oba Olakulehin ascended the throne in July 2024 and reigned for one year. He was formally presented with the staff of office by Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on July 12, 2024, becoming the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Born on July 5, 1935, the late monarch is remembered for his brief but impactful reign. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the Olubadan-in-Council.
