The Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Federal Constituency Matters, Hon. Dare Adeleke, has applauded Governor Seyi Makinde for the commissioning of the South West Party Secretariat named after the late former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Soji Adagunodo.

While commissioning the building on Saturday, Makinde noted his commitment to upholding the legacy of the former party chieftain, adding that he would complete the South West PDP Secretariat project named after the late politician within the next few months.

Hon. Dare Adeleke, a chieftain and founding member of the PDP in Oyo, described the project as a visionary move and commended Governor Makinde for his leadership and commitment to celebrating the contributions of past leaders.

He stated: “His Excellency’s decision to name the secretariat after Hon. Soji Adagunodo, a revered party stalwart, is indeed praiseworthy. Adagunodo, until his death, was known for his unwavering dedication to the PDP, and his impactful political career left an enduring legacy in the South West and beyond.

“The governor’s gesture of naming this unique edifice after such a prominent member of our great party not only honors Adagunodo’s memory but also serves as an inspiring reminder of the values of service, loyalty, and commitment to the PDP’s mission.

“As he has demonstrated throughout his administration, Makinde has again displayed excellent leadership and clarity of vision.”

Adeleke described the newly inaugurated South West PDP Secretariat, with its modern infrastructure and strategic location, as a “significant asset for the party in the region.”

“This initiative underscores Governor Makinde’s visionary approach to strengthening the PDP’s organizational framework and reinforcing unity within the party. By investing in this facility, Governor Makinde has created a dedicated space for collaboration, planning, and capacity-building among PDP leaders and members across the South West,” he stressed.

“Governor Makinde has once again shown his commitment to the growth and unity of our party.”

Describing Makinde’s actions as an inspiration for other members to remain loyal, dedicated, and willing to make sacrifices for the party, Adeleke emphasized the importance of recognizing past leaders who devoted themselves to the party’s ideals. He noted that such altruistic acts help foster a culture of respect, gratitude, and continuity within the PDP.

“Indeed, Adagunodo was a bridge-builder who left his footprints in the sands of time, and this monument today stands as proof of his greatness.”

“The secretariat will foster grassroots political engagement, unity, and growth within the PDP, thanks to the magnanimity of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde,” Adeleke noted.

He urged party members to leverage the resources offered by the new secretariat to build a stronger future for the PDP.
