At least 23 people have been killed and more than 100 others injured following a series of suspected suicide bombings in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, northeastern Nigeria.

The attacks occurred on Monday evening, sending shockwaves through the city and overwhelming local emergency services. Witnesses reported multiple explosions in crowded areas, leading to widespread panic and chaos.

The violence came less than 24 hours after an હુમારો on a military post in the region on Sunday night, raising concerns about escalating insecurity in the area.

Authorities have yet to confirm the identities of those behind the bombings, but investigations are ongoing. Security forces have been deployed across Maiduguri to prevent further incidents and to reassure residents.

Emergency responders continue to treat the injured, many of whom are in critical condition, while hospitals struggle to cope with the surge in casualties.

Officials have condemned the attacks, describing them as a tragic assault on civilians, and have pledged to intensify efforts to restore safety in the region.
