The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Saturday accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to disrupt its planned opposition summit in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the allegation in a post on X, claiming that the ADC had uncovered moves aimed at frustrating the gathering scheduled for April 25.
“We have uncovered plans by the ruling APC to disrupt the summit being held by the opposition parties in Ibadan,” Abdullahi said.
He stressed that despite the alleged interference, the party would go ahead with the event, accusing the APC of consistently creating obstacles for opposition activities across the country.
According to him, similar challenges were encountered in previous attempts to organise meetings in Abuja.
“After denying us the use of venues in Abuja, they now will not leave us alone to hold our meetings,” he said.
Abdullahi further questioned the ruling party’s stance, suggesting a contradiction between its public posture and alleged actions.
“They say they are not scared, but they are behaving like people who are terrified,” he added.
