Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 has launched a crossover with The Terminator and fans aren’t sure what to make of it.
Released last night (February 6) as part of Black Ops 6’s second season, The Terminator limited-time event gives players the chance to earn new weapons, stickers, attachments and perks via new in-game currency Skulls, which can be collected during any zombies or multiplayer match.
There are also two Terminator-inspired skins up for grabs. The T-800 is based on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic cyborg while the Endo Titanium Core operator skin strips the skin away to reveal the robotic skeleton underneath the T-800.
However these can only be unlocked by purchasing The Terminator: Tracer Pack, which will set you back 3000 Call Of Duty points. COD points can be earned by completing battle passes or competing in tournaments but can also be bought from the online store. Currently 3000 Call Of Duty points costs around £25.

“Finally a skin that fits the ‘90s theme,” wrote one player on Reddit, with Terminator 2 released in 1991, the same year that Black Ops 6’s main campaign takes place. Previous limited-time events have introduced characters from Squid Game as well as a human-sized shark, despite developers putting a lot of effort into making Black Ops 6 as authentically ‘90s as possible.
“This is the best idea they had on BO6 so far IMO,” added another fan.
However other fans aren’t happy that the skins have been locked behind a paywall. “Big L with this Terminator event,” reads another Reddit thread. “I was expecting this to be similar to the Squid Game event.. but NOPE. You have to buy a 30 dollar pack that contains both skins? Yikes.”
“I was going to buy the Operator bundle, but 3000 CoD Points? You’re better off buying the Blu Ray for T1 and T2,” added another fan. Others have complained that the vocal lines sound like low-quality rips from the original movie, while some fans wanted other characters from The Terminator franchise like Sarah Connor or the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
The Terminator event will run until February 20 but some players have already completed it.
In other news, Nintendo’s president Shuntaro Furukawa has said the Switch 2 will be “affordable” but still hasn’t confirmed a price.
