Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye Olarenwaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, has suggested he may not be returning to Nigeria, citing the need to prioritize his “sanity and health” while residing in the UK.
In a video shared on Instagram this Wednesday, Bobrisky expressed his relief and comfort in his new surroundings, hinting at a possible long-term stay. “I feel very much welcome here,” he said, adding that the supportive environment is contributing positively to his well-being.
During the video post, he also mentioned a “godfather” who had played a significant role in his life, saying, “I wish I could give him a baby, but unfortunately, I can’t.” This mysterious figure remains unnamed but appears to be a strong influence in his life.
Bobrisky’s departure from Nigeria follows a turbulent period. Just two weeks ago, he had two separate encounters with law enforcement.
First, he was detained while allegedly attempting to travel to Benin Republic, and shortly after, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) briefly held him at Lagos’s Murtala Mohammed International Airport as he prepared to board a flight to London. Granted bail on both occasions, he finally managed to depart for the UK legally.
In a previous Instagram post, Bobrisky confirmed his temporary relocation, stating, “Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily. I need to attend to my sanity and my health.”
Unfazed by critics, he added, “Before you come to my page to type nonsense, check your account balance if you can afford three business seats, not to talk of buying it three times. Well, I’m not in Nigeria, so your comment means nothing.”
While Bobrisky has not explicitly declared a permanent relocation, his statements have led fans to speculate on whether he may leave Nigeria for good.
