Business mogul and devout Christian, Evangelist Sir Innocent Chinedu Onuoha, Executive Chairman of InnoChris Group, has passed away at the age of 71.
In a statement released by the family, they confirmed that the respected entrepreneur “died peacefully in his sleep on December 11, 2025, at his Lagos home.”
Fondly known as Ogbuefi, a revered traditional title, Onuoha was born in 1954 and pursued higher education that laid a solid foundation for his distinguished career in business and service.
An Evangelist in the Anglican Church, Onuoha hailed from Umuoma Umuaro II Autonomous Community in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
He began his professional journey as Secretary to the Chief Engineer at Flour Mills Nigeria Ltd before rising to become the Executive Chairman of InnoChris Group, a conglomerate comprising InnoChris Transport, InnoChris Computers, and InnoChris Spare Parts (Wholesale and Retail).
Described by associates as a bridge builder and philanthropist, Onuoha played pivotal roles in several development and infrastructure projects in his community. Through his scholarship scheme, many indigent students were able to access quality education.
“He believed strongly in empowering others,” the family noted, adding that he mentored numerous young entrepreneurs through apprenticeship programmes, helping them establish their own businesses.
Beyond business and mentorship, Onuoha was widely recognized for his humanitarian efforts. According to the statement, he “made impactful contributions to the lives of widows and the less privileged, giving lifelines and restoring hope to dozens across the country without discrimination.”
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
The family said burial arrangements are ongoing and that the date for his final rites will be announced in due course.
