Chappell Roan performs onstage at the 67th annual GRAMMY Awards

Chappell Roan has teased her new song ‘The Giver’ through a hotline number shared with fans.

The track is not yet officially released, but has been long-awaited by fans for months now. This came as the former NME Cover star broke out the upcoming track during an appearance on Saturday Night Live last November.

Now it seems like fans are one step closer to getting ‘The Giver’ as an official release, as Roan has shared a cryptic phone number on Instagram Stories and used it to drop snippets of the single.

Posted over the weekend, the singer posted the number “620-468-8646” (or “620-HOT-TOGO”). For those who dialled the number, a variety of choices is offered that can be selected by pressing a number on the keypad. Pressing one is for fans wanting to book “an appointment with a dentist”, two is for those looking to “reach an attorney”, three is to report a “plumbing issue” and so on.

When selected, each option leads to a different lo-fi section of the song being played. If it is released soon, it will mark the first track shared by Roan since her massive hit ‘Good Luck, Babe’.

Check out all of the snippets shared in the post below.

Speaking about the track, last July, producer Dan Nigro told The New York Times that fans could expect a “fun, up-tempo country song” that featured a fiddle, and would show “a new version” of the singer.

Then, as highlighted by Uproxx, in November the pop star explained that the track is a country-inspired single that recalls how women “get the job done”.

“It will come out! It will come out; don’t worry,” she told Brandi Carlile at the Grammy Museum. “But that was so fun to write. I got to bring what I knew to the table, ’cause I’m a country girl. So I got to be like, ‘No, no, no, like, let me show you some country songs.’”

In other Chappell Roan news, earlier this month the singer made headlines when she used her Best New Artist speech at the 67th Grammy Awards to take aim at record labels and share her past experience as a struggling new artist.

Before then, ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ was named as NME’s best song of 2024. “With ‘Good Luck, Babe!’, Roan set out to write a ‘big anthemic pop song’. It was an unqualified success: over subtly insistent synth-pop, Roan serves up home truths to someone desperately trying to deny their queerness,” the entry read.

Her breakthrough debut album ‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’ was also given a glowing four-star review from NME, which described it as “cinematic and swooning”. “‘The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess’ is a display of Roan’s bold and brazen pen, where she places searing revelations alongside some deliciously cheeky choruses,” it read.
