Conor Maynard has issued a health update after he was rushed to hospital over the weekend.

Taking to Instagram yesterday evening (February 16), Maynard explained that he had fallen down a flight of stairs during the day and ended up having to take a trip to the hospital via an ambulance.

The first image in a series of photos posted to his story sees him lying on a stretcher, with straps around his face and arms and his neck in a brace, alongside the caption “Sunday funday”.

Another video, also taken on Sunday evening, shows him being wheeled outside his home on a stretcher by two paramedics. The singer gave no details, aside from the caption, “FML” and a laughing emoji.

Finally, he posted an image of him back at home with his thumb up, writing: “I’m doing ok guys. You’re not allowed to laugh … but I fell down some stairs.

“But nothing too serious, you can breathe now.”

Conor Maynard first found fame in 2008 when he began posting covers of popular tracks on YouTube, with his take on Ne-Yo’s ‘Beautiful Monster’ gaining the attention of the singer. Ne-Yo would later mentor Maynard, and led Maynard to signing with EMI/Parlophone and management company Turn First.

His debut single ‘Can’t Say No’ shot to Number 2 in the UK charts, shortly after being followed up by ‘Vegas Girl’, which reached Number 4.

NME reviewed his debut album ‘Contrast’ in 2012, and reflected on his reputation at the time as the “British [Justin] Bieber”, writing: “The tag does the Brighton native a disservice, as it’s another Justin that the choicer moments of ‘Contrasts’ call to mind – Timberlake, at his thrusting, braggadocio-laden best.”

He’s released two further albums since then, the latest being his 2023 record ‘+11 Hours’.

Maynard’s most recent single ‘She’s So High’ – a collaboration with German D Jaxamony – came out earlier this year.
