PDP stalwart and Chairman of the Ekiti Caretaker Committee, Hon. Dare Adeleke, has called for the immediate expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, from the party. In a phone interview with our reporter, Adeleke, a founding member of the PDP; responded to Wike’s nationwide media parley on June 2, 2025, describing the Minister’s comments as disgraceful and unbecoming of a party member.“Watching Wike on television during that interview was like watching an irrational, arrogant psychopath,” Adeleke said.“This is the time to expel this mole from within our ranks. The man sounded uncultured, spoke like a drunkard, and used disgraceful, filthy language to describe a revered elder statesman.”Adeleke condemned Wike’s disrespect for Chief Bode George, a founding father of the PDP, calling Wike “a ruthless and hardened opportunist.”“In his arrogance, Wike falsely claimed the PDP never won a seat in Lagos. That kind of falsehood shows how whiskey has eroded whatever reasoning he once had. I advise him to sober up and listen to his own delusion. It is on record that despite rampant rigging by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has held Lagos in a vice grip since 1999, the PDP has always made a strong showing and has won many seats.”He added: “Tinubu lost elections to the PDP both before and after the formation of the APC. His candidates only managed slim victories. In the last elections, thanks to the relentless efforts of Bode George, the so-called ‘Landlord of Lagos’ was defeated in his own backyard.”Adeleke continued: “Chief Bode George stood firm against Tinubu’s infiltration of the PDP, unlike Wike, who betrayed the party and went scrambling for a ministerial appointment as a reward for his treachery.”“Wike should be reminded, since alcohol seems to have clouded his memory, that Chief Bode George has a spotless record of service. He was the first PDP National Vice Chairman (South-West), later Deputy National Chairman (South), and eventually rose to National Deputy Chairman. His reputation was built on loyalty, a word Wike clearly doesn’t understand.”He also recalled that Bode George became governor of the old Ondo State at youthful age 42 as a Navy Captain. Reacting to Wike’s claim that no one can expel him from the PDP, Adeleke said: “That is the height of hubris. To suggest no one has contributed more than him is delusional. Was there no PDP before Wike? Did he contribute more than Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan, or founding fathers like Alex Ekwueme, Jerry Gana, Anthony Anenih, Solomon Lar, Abubakar Rimi, BolaIgr, Sule Lamido, Adamu Ciroma, Iyorcha Ayu, Bamanga Turkur and others?” “If party building is only about money, Wike cannot lay claim to have contributed more than Odidi, his benefactor and the man whom he betrayed. “Indeed Wike is living in a delusional world of self-importance bordering on schizophrenia,” Adeleke declared. He further alleged that Wike’s actions are part of a calculated attempt to destabilize the PDP and hand it over to his “paymaster,” Bola Tinubu:“With Tinubu’s colossal failure as president, the APC’s strategy is to destabilize every opposition party, especially the PDP, which has the structure to take back power in 2027.”“Wike’s open endorsement and brazen support for Bola Tinubu is a blatant violation of the PDP’s principles and constitution.”“For the PDP to mount a credible challenge against the floundering APC in 2027, Nyesom Wike must be expelled from the party, now,” Adeleke concluded.
