The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dare Adeleke, has expressed his profound sorrow at the passing of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, a venerable leader of Afenifere and an unwavering advocate for democracy.
In his statement, Adeleke said: “His departure on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the age of 96, marks the end of an era characterized by steadfast dedication to the principles of justice and equity.
Pa Adebanjo’s life was a testament to selfless service, as he consistently championed the cause of true federalism and the rights of the Yoruba people within a united Nigeria. His wisdom and courage were instrumental in navigating the complexities of our nation’s political landscape.
I extend my deepest condolences to Pa Adebanjo’s immediate family, the Afenifere organization, and all Nigerians who mourn this irreplaceable loss. May we find solace in the enduring legacy he leaves behind and strive to uphold the values he so passionately espoused.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
