David Tennant has confirmed in an interview that he has six toes on his right foot, after fan theories circulated online after seeing images of his feet.

Speaking to the Metro, he was asked about the theory, to which the Doctor Who star replied: “Do people know that?” before confirming that “it’s sort of like a nubbin” while explaining it was on the little toe side of his right foot.
Elsewhere in the interview, he also discussed hosting the BAFTA Film Awards for the second consecutive year on February 16. “It’s a lovely thing to be asked to do and it’s a huge privilege, and it’s very giddy-making” he said when asked about the role.
He talked about being a left-field pick for the hosting job, which has mostly been given to TV presenters such as Stephen Fry, Graham Norton, and Jonathan Ross in the past.
“I’ve sort of got a bit of a free pass, because nobody expects me to be any good at it” he explained, before adding: “It was a slightly mad thing to be asked to do, not something I ever aspired to or imagined would come my way”.
Looking ahead to the forthcoming awards, Tennant said he still felt a bit of impostor syndrome.
“When you’re standing on that stage looking out at all the most famous people in the world, you just think: How did I end up doing this?” he said, concluding: “I think I just want to not break it again, really”.
Tennant is also the star of TV show Good Omens, alongside friend Michael Sheen. Late last year, it was announced that the show would end with one single episode instead of a full series, following accusations made against the original book’s author Neil Gaiman.
