Dare Adeleke

The Chairman, PDP Caretaker Committee, Ekiti State, Dare Adeleke has stated that the Local Council elections which held Wednesday, 7th May, 2025, remains valid and legal.

In a statement released Thursday morning, Adeleke said those who claimed to have served an injunction did not get an injunction at all.

He noted: “The so called injunction which they claimed yesterday was not an injunction as they misled the public to believe and therefore could not have affected the election.

According to the CTC Chairman: “The fact is, that the court ordered a substituted service of the originating summons which was served on some people in Abuja but declined to issue an injunction that could have stopped the process.”

“Furthermore, the status quo, in the so called court ruling, was maintained, which in this context refers to the fact that the congress had already been conducted before the court became involved. Legal experts have emphasized that the court’s directive does not and cannot invalidate a concluded act.” He stressed.

Adeleke stated that: “This decision means that the congress stands as concluded and legally sound. The general public must note that the court simply allowed the originating summons to be served by alternative means and that the party will not tolerate the behaviour of the people involved in sending out misleading information and outright falsehood.”

Adeleke while stating that internal party matters should first be addressed within party structures, as dictated by party constitutions condemned “the rather insignificant few number of dissenters who rushed to court without any basis, to attempt to get an injunction which was in fact never granted them.

The CTC Chairman urged stakeholders to remain calm and strategic as the party will approach the misnomer with all the seriousness it deserves.
