The Daily Show presenter Jon Stewart’s rant about Elon Musk’s government entity DOGE (Department Of Government Efficiency) has led to the billionaire saying he would appear on the show.
On X (formerly Twitter), user @FarzadMediaINC posted “Elon Musk Should Go On Jon Stewart’s Daily Show”. The post was seen by Musk, who replied “I will do it if the show airs unedited.” The Daily Show’s official account then followed that with “@elonmusk we’d be delighted!”
During Monday’s (February 24) Daily Show segment, Stewart criticised the firing of thousands of federal workers, arguing that money might have been better saved with what he views as wasteful government spending.

“How about we just take $3billion in subsidies we give to oil and gas companies that turn billions in profits,” Stewart said. “How long did that take? Oh, wait! How about we just close down the carried interest loophole on hedge funds? That’s $1.3billion a year.
“Or how about we stop the $2trillion dollars we’ve given to defence contractors to build a fighter jet that blows, when everyone knows the next war is going to be fought with drones and blockchains, whatever that is! Holy shit! I can’t believe it! I just saved us billions of dollars in 11 seconds!”

It was part of a segment that ended with Stewart slamming a mug on a table, which smashed and cut open his hand. After covering it under the table, he later elicited a gasp from the audience when he lifted it again to reveal it bloodied, quipping that he’d be “going to the hospital soon”.
Elsewhere, an Anti-Elon Musk Tesla advert went viral in London, which read: “Don’t buy a Swasticar”. Musk’s former partner, Grimes, has also asked people to stop sharing images of their child after he appeared in the Oval Office, remarking “fame is something you should consent to”.
