HBO has revealed the first look at Zendaya in the highly anticipated and long-awaited third season of Euphoria – you can see it below.
Yesterday (February 10), the official Euphoria X (formerly Twitter) account confirmed that production on season three is underway and offered up our first look at a returning Zendaya.
In the dimly lit teaser image shown below, we see Rue (Zendaya) looking over her shoulder, looking almost directly at the camera. She’s pictured with her signature messy, frizzy hair.

The confirmation that season three is now in production comes almost exactly three years after the release of the acclaimed second season in 2022. While a release date has yet to be confirmed, Warner Bros. Discovery global streaming chief JB Perrette revealed back in December that fans can expect for it to arrive in “early 2026”.
Perrette’s update marked the first sign of progress after a long, arduous road back to production for Euphoria‘s third season. Less than a month before his update, a wave of rumours surrounding the fate of Euphoria hit social media following actor Storm Reid’s exit from the show. Reid had portrayed Gia, the younger sister to Zendaya’s Rue.
This came after rumours were already circulating that the hit drama’s third season had quietly been cancelled at HBO, prompting a retort from a representative that confirmed the show will be moving ahead as planned.
Prior to Reid’s exit, Zendaya expressed earlier in November that at the time she still hadn’t seen any scripts for season three but confirmed that filming was set to begin in January.

In a statement issued back in July, HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi said she was “thrilled” to reveal that the entire main cast was set to return. There had been numerous reports about the delay of the third season, which were compounded by the death of Euphoria star Angus Cloud in August 2023.
The delays even confused its lead stars – with Sydney Sweeney telling NME that she didn’t “know how soon I’m going home”. Meanwhile, Zendaya said earlier last year that the show’s delays were “beyond me”.
Little is known of season three’s plot, except that “a time jump” will be involved.
In a glowing five-star review of Euphoria season two, Rhian Daly wrote for NME: “Euphoria season two might have taken a long time to arrive but, with a clutch of new episodes that are darker, tougher and more intense than ever, it’s well worth the wait. Its teen subjects might start the new year off on a negative note, but it’s already setting the bar very high for TV in 2022.”
