The Ibadan Youth Vanguard has read with bemusement the article by Omotosho Okeya concerning the Ekiti PDP Caretaker Committee.
We warned the PDP last year to reject Ayo Fayose’s Trojan Horse entirely. We observed that Fayose’s handouts to ward-level politicians were inconsistent with his reputation for party treachery and polarization.
Reading Omotosho Okeya’s faceless commentary evokes images of Fayose’s unrelenting quest for instability within the PDP.
We need to address the fallacy in the claim that the Chairman of the CTC, Dare Adeleke, has made any pronouncement encouraging animosity towards the governor or anyone else.
Elections are decided not by sentiment or personal relationships but by political strategy and performance.
As stated in our previous piece, Ayo Fayose’s support is duplicitous. He publicly endorsed Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji while secretly undermining his candidacy. Fayose’s recruitment of PDP members to support his friend, BAO, has clearly caused disaffection among party members.
We have credible information suggesting that the APC may have mobilized Fayose to create disunity within the PDP. Those aware of the situation have been monitoring closely.
We must correct the misinformation spread by the writer Akeye: while Chairman Dare Adeleke has not encouraged enmity, the APC remains a rival in the upcoming elections. Unlike Fayose, who has openly praised and aligned with the opposition, Adeleke has not betrayed his party.
Currently, the APC and PDP are opposing factions vying for the same position, and politically, they are not friends.
Fayose’s actions indicate he has aligned with the APC governor, BAO. It is disgraceful that what should be considered an abomination is being celebrated by some misguided individuals.
Ayo Fayose has consistently shown himself to be a self-serving opportunist, ready to jeopardize the PDP’s future in Ekiti for his own gain.
Given Fayose’s declaration that the PDP will not have a candidate in 2026, we reiterate our call for his expulsion from the party and vow to make him irrelevant before 2026.
We issue a strong warning to Mr. Ayo Fayose, the notorious provocateur and enemy of peace within the PDP, to stay away from the PDP Caretaker Committee. The CTC should be allowed to perform its duties without his interference or slanderous propaganda. Hon. Dare Adeleke, a well-educated Nigerian and a founding member of the PDP with a proven record of integrity, stands in stark contrast to the erratic and treacherous Ayo Fayose.
We once again urge the PDP National Executive Committee to, as a matter of urgency, expel Fayose and his cohorts from the party.
The Ibadan Youth Vanguard expresses its unwavering confidence in the Ekiti Caretaker Committee under the capable leadership of Hon. Dare Adeleke.
