The Chairman, PDP Caretaker Committee, Ekiti has reiterated his call for former governor Ayo Fayose to quit the party.

In a statement issued Saturday, Adeleke, reacting to Fayose’s Channel’s Television interview, Friday, said the former governor, should leave the party now, rather than continue his betrayal of the entity that made him.

The statement reads:

Statement by Hon. Dare Adeleke on Fayose ‘s Shameless Interview and Continuous Betrayal of His Party

Watching Ayo Fayose on Seun Akinboloye’s show, ‘Politics Today’, which aired on Channels Television on Friday, was like watching the dance of a mentally unstable, delusional masquerade, in a market square for the absurd.

Fayose, unusually and unsteady and rambled around, making a nuisance of himself as he tried to prove that he was not a total traitor to the party that made him. If guilt stank, Fayose’s confusion would be a putrid smell permeating the homes of viewers all over the world.

One must give credit to the anchor of the show, Seun Akinboloye for making Ayo Fayose drench in his swear of perfidy. I would assume that to be given the whole hour of the show, Ayo Fayose must have paid for the bad advertisement of his treachery and continuous betrayal of the PDP – what a waste of money it turned out to be for Ayo Fayose and his sponsors! Why has Fayose refused to leave the party that he calls a ‘carcass’, a ‘dead entity’? That was a question Akinboloye, a thorough prossional kept pushing, to an almost embarrassing level, yet Fayose danced, floundering and shameless, finally admitting that he was a disgruntled, pained and bitter person who not only sells to the highest bidder but one who is willing to sink the ship with everyone on board, because he wasn’t given what he wanted.

A two time governor, who has never stood for anything but his now infamous stomach infrastructure ideology, cannot expect to get anything from a party he has no regards for, just like soldier who continues to betray his country and sell it to the enemy again and again, would be crying that he isn’t getting promotions.

Indeed if political parties were like the military, Fayose would have since had his legs dangling in the air with spectators looking on, in disgust of his penchant for betrayal, lack of decorum and sheer hubris displayed on TV that Friday as he left the substance of the questions asked about why he was still in the PDP and continued in his bitter tirade of self importance, self aggrandizement and theatrics that fell flat on their face as viewers watched, mostly in disgust of such a slimy character.

Now, let’s look at the issues:

Fayose went around in circles, talking about party members who have left the PDP. He boasted that Senator Olujinmi had told him that she would defect on Monday, as if that is news to anyone. The fact is that everyone knows that Olujinmi is one of the torn coats fraternizing with the APC. The ones they refer to as PDP by day and APC at night. It is common knowledge that Olujinmi has been a crowd supporter of the APC and that she lobbied heavily for an Ambassadorrial position under the party which of course, she did not get.

Olujinmi, former Deputy Governor, Professor Kolapo Eleka, and others have been receiving a monthly allowance under the APC and that they are moving to the ADC where they will be roaming around without any strong footing, is actually good riddance to bad rubbish!
Of what political value is Eleka, a man who ran for governor and lost his ward, Ikere? This is a man who did not get any seat in Ikere. As a matter of fact, Professor Eleka is a political albatross to the PDP and we are elated to see him go and the PDP which has since grown stronger since the load called Eleka was dropped off its shoulder, is celebrating his inglorious exit.

Eleka is as disgruntled as his fellow traveler Ayo Fayose. He wanted the party structure handed over to him but unbeknownst to him, we had pre-knowledge of his decamping.

The big question is why is Ayo Fayose so angry and resentful, as he displayed on that disgraceful TV outing? Here are the facts, Fayose who sold his own son’s House of Reps ticket for pittance, a man who openly admitted his perfidy on TV, accepted that he only worked for Tinubu because he was his friend and kinsman – as if Nigeria is now ruled by cronyism and clannish association- lobbied for two local government EXCO and was denied. Thank God the party had that foresight. Fayose kept drumming at his past as two time governor, as if that gives him the express ticket to betray the party at every given turn, yet, if he was that politically strong, he would have moved the whole of PDP with him to the APC or ADC but as we are today, not one ward chairman or local government chairman has defected.

I want to assure Fayose, the father and grandfather of betrayal, that the PDP which he kept referring to as, ‘they’, will mobilize people that matter and not his jokers who crossed to the ADC, such as Olujinmi and Ojudu who will only be on the back bench as onlookers without any strong footing. I want to say this emphatically to Ayo Fayose, that the PDP will win Ekiti State.

Seun pressed Fayose to tell the world, when he will leave the party, he mumbled on and on with meaningless words, trying to brag his way out of the trap he set for himself on that show. He said the PDP was a carcass, yet he holds on to it. Well, the ‘carcass’ has now spat him out as all PDP local government chairmen have roundly condemned his action and disowned him in a statement, issued Saturday.

I will leave Ayo Fayose with the parting words of Seun Akinboloye: “Fury awaits any leader who mocks the bane of the poor.”

Will history ever be kind to such a slippery character as Ayo Fayose? The only was he can gather the crumbs of his disintegrated character, is for Ayo Fayose to leave the PDP NOW!

Signed:

Dare Adeleke

Chairman, PDP Caretaker Committee, Ekiti.
