The Federal High Court of Nigeria has clarified that its Chief Judge, John Terhemba Tsoho, is prepared to honour the invitation of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), in line with constitutional provisions.

In a statement issued on Monday, the court said the Chief Judge “remains fully committed to cooperating with the Code of Conduct Bureau in respect of its invitation.”

According to the statement, Justice Tsoho has exercised his constitutional right to consult and be represented by counsel of his choice. His legal representative, Kanu Godwin Agabi, CON, SAN, has indicated readiness to accompany him to the Bureau upon his return to Nigeria.

Agabi is currently outside the country for medical reasons, the statement noted.

“This position has been duly communicated to the Code of Conduct Bureau, affirming the Chief Judge’s willingness to appear and participate in the process in full compliance with the law and established constitutional safeguards,” the court said.

For scheduling purposes, the Bureau has been informed that any date within the week commencing Monday, March 16, 2026, would be convenient for the Chief Judge and his counsel.

Justice Tsoho, according to the statement, reiterated his “commitment to due process, transparency, and respect for the rule of law.”

The statement was signed by Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, Director of Information, Federal High Court of Nigeria, and dated March 2, 2026.
