Feeder, 2025

Feeder have shared details of a ‘Comfort In Sound’ reissue, as well as a 2025 UK tour. Find the details below.

The reissue of the band’s classic album comes following its initial release in 2002, which saw it land a space on the UK Top 10 and spend more than two years in the UK Independent Albums Chart Top 50.

It contained the title track, which became the band’s second Top 10 single after the previous year’s ‘Buck Rodgers’, and was the first release since the tragic death of original drummer Jon Lee.

“‘Comfort in Sound’ is an album very close to our hearts and now feels like the right time to re-release it and let people re-discover it again or for the first time,” said singer and guitarist Grant Nicholas. “We hit a brick wall after losing Jon, so as a writer I decided to put all those mixed feelings and emotions into writing songs of recovery.

He continued: “Those compositions became the ‘Comfort in Sound’ album, and I think it opened both myself up as a writer and the depth and soul of Feeder as a band.”

The re-release of ‘Comfort In Sound’ is set to arrive on September 12 via BMG, and will be available on Transparent Blue Curacao vinyl, deluxe two-CD packs and expanded digital formats. It’ll also include new orchestral remixes of ‘Just The Way I’m Feeling’ and ‘Forget About Tomorrow’, as well as a reimagining of ‘Godzilla II’. Visit here to pre-order.

As well as reissuing the 2002 album, Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose have also confirmed details of a new UK tour, which will see them play six shows across the country later this year.

These kick off on September 26 with an opening night at the O2 Academy in Leeds, before being followed up by a show at the O2 Academy Brixton the following night.

From there, the remainder of the shows will be held the following month, and include dates in Manchester, Glasgow and Bristol on October 2, 3 and 9. The tour wraps up with a show at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on October 11.

Tickets go on sale this Friday (February 14) at 10am, and pre-sale options are available to those who pre-order the ‘Comfort In Sound’ reissue. Visit here to buy tickets and find a list of new tour dates below.

In the time since their 1994 formation, Feeder have shared 12 studio records and achieved Top 10 albums over four decades (‘90s, ‘00s, ‘10s, ‘20s). Their latest Top 10 release came last year, when they shared ‘Black/Red’, and followed it up with a tour across the UK.

Their biggest hit to date remains as their 2001 single ‘Buck Rogers’, which featured on their third album ‘Echo Park’ and was their last release with the late drummer.

Jon Lee died by suicide in January 2002, and was found in his Miami home. He was aged 33. He was originally from Newport, South Wales, and formed the group with Nicholas in 1992. They moved to London in 1995 in search of success and hooked up with bassist Taka Hirose.

His death came shortly after the band finished a tour supporting Stereophonics across Europe, and numerous famous faces from the music world paid their respects at his funeral.
