The PDP Chairman, Ekiti Caretaker Committee, Dare Adeleke has vehemently condemned the state government’s incessant taxation of the people saying it has brought untold suffering to the people of Ekiti.
He said the Ekiti Governor, Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji is placing a high burden on the people by yoking them with all manner of taxes.
“Just like all other APC governments, Oyebanji does not give a hoot about the people’s sufferings. He claims to have increased minimum wage to N70,000, yet just like a man who gives a blind begger money and comes back to steal same money, Oyebanji has imposed taxes that will clear out almost all of the increase back to state government coffers.
“Workers are groaning under these taxes which comes in all kinds of guise and their living conditions have worsened with the minimum wage, rather than improve, he said.
According to the CTC Chairman: “This is why the people must gather enmase to kick out the APC come elections time.
“The whole nation still cannot understand why the APC sitting comfortably and feeding fat in Aso Villa, will plunge citizens into excruciating pain through direct and indirect taxation, a nightmarish economic policy and an inhuman approach to the welfare of the people. They simply don’t care if Nigerians die or live. While the people are falling down on the streets in hunger, President Tinubu and his deputy are thinking about spending more money to fund their ostentatious lifestyle.
“Prices of goods have sky rocketed so much so that people now beg for food in the markets and everywhere else.
“This is why starting from Ekiti State, ahead of the 2027 General elections, the APC must be thrown out of government.
“Just like his president in Aso Villa, Oyebanji is feeding fat, living large on the sweat and misery of the people.”
“No one of sound mind will vote APC in Ekiti in the next election”, Adeleke affirmed.
