A representative for Justin Bieber has addressed rumours of drug use, calling them “false” and “harmful”.

In a statement, reps for Bieber and his wife Hailey said the public’s fixation on his heath is “exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive,” per Rolling Stone.

They went on to say that last year was “very transformative for him as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.” The singer’s reps added that he is working on new music and is focused on parenting his newborn son.

It follows speculation surrounding Bieber’s mental and physical health in recent weeks, after paparazzi photos that appeared to show him looking tired, went viral.

The singer has been open about his health struggles in recent years, sharing his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome in 2022 after he cancelled the opening stretch of his North American ‘Justice’ tour due to “sickness”.

In line with the statement, reports that Bieber is back in the studio and planning a major comeback have been circulating.

It comes after he shared an image of him in the studio last month and in October, only weeks after Mk.gee revealed that he had been working with the singer on new material as Bieber “searched” for his next phase.

“He’s searching. Anything that comes out of his mouth: That’s pop music. You can really do pretty wild stuff behind that, just because it represents something,” Mk.gee said at the time.

A new album Bieber would mark his first studio release since 2021’s ‘Justice’.

Since then, he has gone through a high-profile break-up with his former long-time manager Scooter Braun. The two had been working together since 2008 after Braun discovered Bieber through his YouTube channel.

It emerged in 2023 that the singer was “looking at how he might extract himself” from his contract with Braun, and last month it was reported that he had unfollowed his former manager on Instagram.

A recent report by Puck News suggested that Bieber was looking at touring, speculating that he may be motivated by financial needs.
