Liam Gallagher has hit out at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, claiming that it “is for wankers” following Oasis‘ nomination.

The 2025 nominees for this year’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction were shared today (February 12) with 14 new names added to the longlist including the likes of the Gallagher brothers as well as New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Mariah Carey, The White Stripes and more.

Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after their first commercial recording was released, and other names on the longlist for 2025 include Grunge icons Soundgarden, hip-hop heavyweights OutKast, and rock groups PhishBad Company and The Black Crowes.

Upon the news of Oasis’ nomination, Liam took to his official X/Twitter account to react to the nod. “RNR hall of fame is for WANKERS,” he wrote. One fan replied to his tweet and asked: “What are you gonna do if you win?,” with the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker saying: “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER”.

This is not the first time Liam has slagged off the prestigious Rock Hall. Last year, the musician took aim at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in a string of social media posts after Oasis were nominated to be inducted that year.

“Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG,” Gallagher wrote on X/Twitter at the time in response to the news.

The former frontman also told a user who was planning on voting in the fan ballot to not “waste your time”, adding that “as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of bollox”.

Another X user asked the artist at the time how he instead felt about his 2018 NME Godlike Genius Award, to which LG replied: “I mean cmon you can’t be turning things like that down.”

A few weeks after his remarks, Liam reshared his stance on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Speaking to The Sunday Times, the singer shared: “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favour and fuck off.

“It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed. Besides, I’ve done more for rock n’ roll than half of them clowns on that board, so it’s all a load of bollocks.”

In other Liam Gallagher news, the musician recently issued a response following thousands of tickets to the Oasis reunion shows being cancelled by Ticketmaster.

The tickets for UK shows went on sale back in August, however, despite efforts to prevent touts from re-selling them at inflated prices, roughly 50,000 tickets ended up on resale sites. In response, promoters Live Nation and SJM confirmed that all tickets sold via secondary ticketing sites other than Twickets would be cancelled and made available again through Ticketmaster at face value.

However, the process has gone far from smoothly, with numerous fans taking to social media over the weekend to claim that they have had their tickets wrongfully cancelled after they bought them legitimately.

He took to X/Twitter this morning to respond to a fan who reached out and asked: “Liam what do you think of the ticket situation? Thinking fans are bots and getting their money returned?”

Responding, the Britpop icon wrote: “I don’t make the rules. We’re trying to do the right thing. It is what it is, I’m the singer. Get off my case.”
