Louise has shared details of a new album called ‘Confessions’. Find out more and check out the lead single below.
Set for release on May 23, the new record will mark the fifth studio album from the pop singer, and is set to see her deliver “a confident collection of euphoric pop dance anthems”.
It has also seen the singer team up with some huge collaborators for the tracks. These include Jon Shave (Charli XCX), Anya Jones (Kylie Minogue), Karen Poole (Becky Hill), Tre Jean-Marie (Perrie, Mabel), MNEK (Flo, Madonna), Miranda Cooper (Girls Aloud) and Hannah Robinson (Annie).
The first preview of the upcoming LP arrived last week, when Louise dropped the dancefloor-ready lead single ‘Confession’.
In the track, she sings over an intense electronic bass line and shimmering synths, exploring themes of passion and that feeling of hitting the club with a new romantic interest. Check it out below.
Discussing how the album together, Louise explained that it is a record that saw her feel liberated and thrust herself into being more open with her fans.
“This album just happened. It had that momentum and I’ve worked with such great people. I’d have a pinch-me moment some days when I was in the studio, working with such great songwriters and producers, it’s been a dream team,” she said in a new statement.
“The album is quite personal and I didn’t hold back. It’s something I’m not known for as I can be quite guarded. But here, I’ve brought the sassy part of Louise. It’s a good time for women to be coming out with music.”
‘Confessions’ is available to pre-order here.
It marks her fifth album, following on from the massive debut album ‘Naked’, which arrived in 1996. It also comes after Louise made her return to music in the 2010s – dropping the singles ‘Stretch’ and ‘Lead Me On’.
She then went on to share her first album in 16 years, ‘Heavy Love’, in 2020, and dropped a greatest hits album in 2023 which included 30 tracks from across her three-decade-long career.
