It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, National President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria.
She passed away in the late hours of June 4, 2024, following a brief illness while on an official assignment in Kebbi State.
Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, a dedicated leader and a staunch advocate for women’s empowerment, will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her relentless efforts and invaluable contributions to societal betterment will always be remembered.
She will be laid to rest today in her hometown of Lau, Taraba State, in accordance with Islamic rites. Further details and arrangements will be communicated in due course.
We mourn the loss of our dear leader and mother, and we pray that God grants us and her family the strength and grace to bear this irreparable loss.
Born on August 8, 1962, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau was elected as the 15th National President of the NCWS on March 31, 2022, and assumed office on April 1, 2022. She was 62 years old.
Her enduring legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us all. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
