The announcement comes after Young teased a tour run on his official Neil Young Archives website. Though no UK dates have been announced, a press release read: “More dates will be added shortly.”

“Music unites! We will be there with you! Join us all as we celebrate the Summer of Democracy,” Young added on his website. “Old songs and new songs. Old words and new words. Long jams! We will come together this summer.”

He continued: “The Chrome Hearts and I are ready for you! LOVE and Democracy reigns in the USA and the world.”

According to Far Out Magazine, Young said in a since-deleted message that he would be confirming dates in the UK, US, Canada and Europe.

Early last month, Young was announced as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2025 after he initially pulled out of the festival due to it being “a corporate turn-off”. The Canadian songwriting icon said: “We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in.”

However, Young backtracked on these remarks shortly afterwards, admitting there had been “an error in the information received”. “Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there!” he wrote.

Young recently shared his first song with his live band The Chrome Hearts, titled ‘Big Change’. He has since given an update on his upcoming debut album with the group, saying that he hoped to release it in April ahead of a tour this summer.

“It is in mastering now to make the vinyl, CD and digital copies,” he wrote. “I am very happy and relieved to have this done in the short time it took. The album art has been completed and handed in with Jenice Heo. I am working on the lyric sheets now, hoping to hand-write the words and get them in, in time…”

Young added: “[The songs] feel fresh to me and I am very happy to have this all ready for you. It won’t be long now and it will be great to have new songs to play on the road this summer in Europe, the USA and Canada. We are looking forward to that!”

In other news, Young recently released his “lost” album ‘Oceanside Countryside’ from the 70s, and shared his praise for the “great” new Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.
