Neil Young performing live on stage

Neil Young is teasing a full UK, European and North American tour for 2025. Find all the details below.

Taking to his official Neil Young Archives website on Tuesday (February 18), the legendary singer-songwriter shared a post titled ‘Join us in the SUMMER OF DEMOCRACY’, pointing to an announcement on Monday (February 24).

“Music unites! We will be there with you! Join us all as we celebrate the Summer of Democracy,” Young wrote. “Old songs and new songs. Old words and new words. Long jams! We will come together this summer.”

He continued: “The Chrome Hearts and I are ready for you! LOVE and Democracy reigns in the USA and the world.”

According to Far Out Magazine, Young said in the since-deleted post that he would be confirming dates in the UK, US, Canada and Europe.

Early last month, Young was announced as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2025 after he initially pulled out of the festival due to it being “a corporate turn-off”. The Canadian songwriting icon said: “We were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in.”

However, Young backtracked on these remarks shortly afterwards, admitting there had been “an error in the information received”. “Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there!” he wrote.

The musician first headlined Glastonbury back in 2009 alongside Bruce Springsteen and Blur.

Speaking about his forthcoming return to Worthy Farm, festival organiser Emily Eavis said: “What a start to the year! Neil Young is an artist who’s very close to our hearts at Glastonbury.

“He does things his own way and that’s why we love him. We can’t wait to welcome him back here to headline the Pyramid in June.”

Young recently shared his first song with his live band The Chrome Hearts, titled ‘Big Change’. He has since shared an update on his upcoming debut album with the group, saying that he hoped to release it in April ahead of a tour this summer.

“It is in mastering now to make the vinyl, CD and digital copies,” he wrote. “I am very happy and relieved to have this done in the short time it took. The album art has been completed and handed in with Jenice Heo. I am working on the lyric sheets now, hoping to hand-write the words and get them in, in time…”

Young added: “[The songs] feel fresh to me and I am very happy to have this all ready for you. It won’t be long now and it will be great to have new songs to play on the road this summer in Europe, the USA and Canada. We are looking forward to that!”

He wrote on his website last November that his proposed European tour dates with The Chrome Hearts were “under review”.

In other news, Young has released his “lost” album ‘Oceanside Countryside’ from the ‘70s, and shared his praise for the “great” new Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.
