Abuja, Nigeria – April 20, 2025 — History was made this weekend in Nigeria’s capital city as Chibuike Livinus Victor, a determined and visionary journalist, shattered the Guinness World Record for the longest interview marathon, clocking an astounding 75 hours of non-stop interviews.
The marathon began precisely at 12:20 PM on Tuesday, April 15, and concluded triumphantly on Sunday, April 20, at 3:40 PM. Throughout three days and nights, Chibuike conducted back-to-back interviews, far surpassing the required minimum of 72 hours and 30 seconds, and setting a new global benchmark in journalistic endurance.
“I did not do it for fame,” Chibuike said moments after completing his final session, visibly exhausted yet glowing with pride. “I did it for all the voices that were not heard in Nigeria, for the power of stories, and to show the world what Nigerian journalists can do.”
Held at the scenic Harrow Golf Club in Abuja, the event brought together over 150 guests from diverse fields, including politics, entertainment, agriculture, business, and civil society. Among them were fellow journalists, thinkers, and public figures who contributed to the powerful mosaic of stories that defined the historic broadcast.
“Chibuike asked questions with courage and compassion,” said one attendee, investigative journalist Amina Yusuf. “This wasn’t just about breaking a record—it was a living, breathing tribute to journalism.”
Every second of the 75-hour feat followed strict Guinness World Record standards, overseen by a team of doctors, timekeepers, nutritionists, and technical experts who ensured Chibuike’s safety and maintained the event’s credibility.
Social media buzzed with the hashtag #Chibuike75Hours, as thousands tuned in globally to witness what many called a “moment of African excellence.” Fans flooded online platforms with congratulations and emotional tributes, calling Chibuike’s achievement “iconic,” “legendary,” and “a beacon for the next generation.”
“This is bigger than me,” Chibuike said during a break between sessions. “It’s for every young African who’s ever been told their dream is too wild.”
His historic marathon has inspired a wave of admiration not only within Nigeria but across the continent, sparking renewed hope and ambition among aspiring journalists and storytellers.
In setting a new world record, Chibuike Livinus Victor didn’t just push the limits of human endurance—he reignited the spirit of African journalism and proved that stories, when told with passion and purpose, can indeed change the world.
