Foremost Oyo politician and Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on ICT and Cyber Security, Honourable Adedeji Olajide, says he was heartbroken when he learned of the death of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, leader of Afenifere as it was indeed an end to the era of Titans of yesteryears.
He said:
“I am saddened to receive news of the passing of our respected elder statesman and leader of Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo. His death marks the end of an era of bold advocacy, unyielding leadership, and unbreakable faith in democracy, justice, and the progress of our great nation.”
Pa Adebanjo was not just a political icon but a pillar of truth who lived his entire life pursuing equality, justice, and the advancement of the Yoruba race within the Nigerian federation. His voice carried wisdom, and his actions exemplified the highest ideals of patriotism and selfless service.
As Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on IT and Cybersecurity, I recognize the invaluable lessons his struggles and life have imparted to us; above all, the importance of standing firm for what is right, even in the face of adversity.

On behalf of my family, my constituents in the Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency, and all well-meaning Nigerians, I extend my sincerest condolences to his family, the leadership of Afenifere, and the entire Yoruba nation. May God grant us the strength to endure this profound loss, and may Pa Adebanjo’s soul find eternal rest.
Adieu, Baba! Long live your legacy.
