LAGOS — Actress Annie Macaulay has stirred social media with a series of cryptic posts just hours after footage emerged of her estranged husband, Afrobeats icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, involved in a public altercation in London.
The drama began unfolding Monday during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze. The broadcast featured two of the singer’s former management associates, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, who levied serious allegations against 2Baba’s new wife, Natasha Osawaru. The pair accused Osawaru of exerting “undue influence” over the singer’s personal and professional decisions.
The digital confrontation escalated quickly when 2Baba joined the live session, demanding that Igbokwe and Tosan cease discussing his private life. Viewers were then witness to a scuffle in the background, where Osawaru appeared to be physically restraining the singer.
Shortly after the broadcast, separate footage circulated online showing the music star involved in a physical confrontation on a London street, ending with him being led away by police officers.
Annie’s Cryptic Response
In the wake of the controversy, Annie Macaulay took to her Instagram Stories to share messages that fans and commentators immediately linked to the unfolding chaos.
In a pointed text post, she wrote:
“Sometimes, trying to prove that you are the best is an insult.”
She followed this with a poignant illustration of burning matchsticks, where one stick was pulled away to stop the fire from spreading to the rest. The caption accompanying the image read: “The power of stepping away.”

Monday’s events have reignited intense public scrutiny regarding the music legend’s private life. The singer’s relationship status has been a subject of national conversation since earlier this year, when 2Baba confirmed his separation from Macaulay.
