President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been elected as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), according to Paparazzi Online.
The election took place during the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, held in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
In response to his appointment, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to upholding democracy, stating, “We will take democracy seriously. Democracy is very tough but it is the best form of government.”
