Transcorp Hilton Abuja on Tuesday hosted top media executives to an evening of appreciation and networking, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to a strong and mutually beneficial partnership with the Nigerian media.

The exclusive event, themed “Media Cocktail Reception,” brought together prominent journalists, senior editors, and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike.

Welcoming guests, the General Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Mr. Martin Zarybnicky, expressed deep gratitude to the media for their consistent support and positive coverage of the hotel’s activities over the years.

“This is definitely the leading hotel in Africa. We are very proud of this brand, now in its thirtieth year, and to be the first in Abuja,”
said Zarybnicky.

Speaking further on his experience in Nigeria since assuming duty in August, the hospitality executive described it as “remarkable and deeply rewarding.”

“Three months in Nigeria have been amazing. Your country is warm, full of humor, and the food, just fantastic. Nigeria is amazing, and we at Hilton truly appreciate everyone. We look forward to an even stronger working relationship with you,” he added.

Zarybnicky reaffirmed that Transcorp Hilton’s doors would always remain open to the media for engagement and partnership opportunities, noting that collaboration with journalists is vital to growth and innovation in the hospitality sector.

“Our relationship with the media is not just professional, it’s a partnership built on trust and shared value. Together, we tell the story of excellence,” he stated.

During the event, Communications & Marketing Manager, Ijeoma Osuji, gave a presentation showcasing the hotel’s innovative offerings and corporate social responsibility initiatives. She revealed that in 2025 alone, the hotel recycled over 15,000 kilograms of waste through eco-friendly processes and supported numerous individuals, including persons living with disabilities.

“Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Beyond hospitality, we are committed to community development and environmental stewardship,”
Osuji said.

Other members of the management team present included Mohamed Said Khalil, Hotel Manager; Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi, Commercial Director; Ifeanyi Nnadi, Brand & Marketing Manager; and Ekun Daniel Friday, Director of Sales.

Distinguished media personalities at the event included the Immediate Past President of the NUJ, Comrade Chief Chris Isiguzo, MFR, prominent journalist, Moji Danisa and Bayo Awosemo, Deputy Managing Director of Arise News, among others.
