The Vice Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) FCT Chapter, Amb. Rebecca Bolanle Ukpevo, has been honored with a prestigious Role Model Award for her exceptional contributions to Journalism, leadership, mentorship, and humanitarian service. The recognition was presented at the Annual Lecture/Award event organized by GreenLand News Magazine on Saturday in Abuja, themed “Government Policies and Rising Cost of Living in Nigeria: The Gains, Losses and the Way Forward.”
Amb. Ukpevo has made significant strides in empowering youth through her initiative, Estrellas Schools, which has provided scholarships to over 100 children in the Wumba rural area of the FCT since 2013. Her efforts reflect a commitment to uplifting the less privileged, especially during challenging economic times in Nigeria.
The event also celebrated other distinguished awardees, including Dr. Binta Lawal Bangiwa from Nassarawa State University and Yeye Adesola Oyinloye-Ndu, Chairperson of the Lefties and Ambidextrous Care Initiative, among others. These individuals were recognized for their remarkable contributions to society and their respective fields.
