Will Forte

Will Forte has spoken about his frustration at his film Coyote Vs. Acme being cancelled, despite the comedy being completed.

The film was a revival of the Looney Tunes cartoon character Wile E. Coyote, and the film would follow Forte as his human lawyer as he sued Acme Corporation, the company where the coyote buys traps to catch his nemesis Road Runner. John Cena also appeared in the film.

In late 2023, studio Warner Bros Discovery announced the film would be shelved, along with the film’s Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. Forte expressed his disappointment at the time, and over a year on still has opinions about the move. The only evidence of the film is a still shared by cast member Eric Bauza.

When asked by MovieWeb what his thoughts were on the cancellation, he quipped: “My thoughts were that it’s a fucking bullshit”.

He continued: “It is such a delightful movie. It deserves so much better … I can’t tell you possibly why the decision was made to not release it, but it makes my blood boil and thank you for asking me about it because I like talking about the movie”.

He said that he doesn’t want people to “forget” that the movie was made, saying: “I appreciate them letting us make it, but don’t let us make this thing that we fall in love with and then not show it. I mean, I would understand if the thing sucked, but it’s really good”.

In early 2024 Forte wrote an open letter to the cast and crew of the film on X (formerly Twitter). “Look, when it comes to Hollywood business stuff, I don’t know shit about shit. Even when a movie tests very well (like ours), there’s no guarantee that it’s gonna be a hit” he said. “And at the end of the day, the people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it. It doesn’t mean I have to like it (I fucking hate it)”.

Recently, the actor was seen with Weird Al Yankovic performing a cover of Chappell Roan’s ‘Pink Pony Club’ at a benefit concert.
