A youth group, the Ibadan Youth Vanguard (IYV), has vehemently condemned the Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Rahman Owokoniran, for what it called gross anti-party and treacherous activity.
The IYV was reacting to a social media post by Owokoniran, publishing a court order against some party leaders and Zonal chairmen.
According to the IYV, the secretary is playing the puppet to his puppeteer, Segun Adewale, also known as Aeroland.
A statement signed by the General Secretary of the IYV, Akin Akingbade, reads:
“Some elements in the PDP South West Zone have turned the party into a comedy of errors and are hell-bent on destroying the hard work of all great leaders who have over the decades strengthened the fabric of the party.”
“It is now clear that a man with zero credibility is determined to hijack the party in the zone and bring to naught the hard work of the general members.”
“While this unscrupulous fellow, Segun Adewale, also known as Aeroland, continues to drag the party in the mud, he has formed a company of worthless fellows who have joined him in his destructive journey.”
“How else can one describe the dubious post by the Zonal Secretary, Rahman Owokoniran, taking relish in publishing a court order against his party on social media?”
“How does one justify such a treacherous and shameless act if not to say he is actual poison and obstacle to the cohesion and even existence of the Party?”
“Rahman Owokoniran has embarked on this disgraceful path probably because of a few pieces of silver from the disreputable Aeroland who wants to destroy the PDP in the South West.”
“We hereby insist that Rahman Owokoniran must be removed as Zonal Secretary of the PDP since he has stooped so low to dance naked like Segun Adewale, who is getting more mad by the day.”
“The real question party members should ask themselves is, why would a zonal secretary share such a document against his own party as forwarded to him by Aeroland? Isn’t that a gross anti-party act?”
“At this point, for peace to reign in our zone, Owokoniran must be removed from the South West Zone of the PDP. He is unworthy of holding the noble position he is presently rubbishing.”
“Note also that the process of going to court had been violated by Aeroland and whatever nomenclature he goes by. The constitution of the party stipulates that ‘A member must get clearance from the party before such a member proceeds to court.’ Therefore, Segun Adewale has clearly shown blatant disdain for the party and all it stands for.”
“Last word for the lowlifer called Aeroland, PDP youths are fed up with his mischief and we will not stop until he is expelled from the party. He must know that he is only struggling with the wind and he has already lost the fight.”
