Oyo PDP Chieftain, Dare Adeleke has refuted claims that head of the Lagos PDP, Chief Bode George, is opposed to Chief Tom Ikimi ‘s appointment as Chairman, Disciplinary Committee of the party but rather opposed to the later’s credentials.
Writing from Ibadan, Adeleke stated:
Chief Bode George, more than most other people has never quavered nor shaken in his commitment to the PDP and that is why he has been in the party, never cross carpeted since the formation of the PDP. As clearly stated by his traducers Chief Bode George was a founding father of the PDP and the first Zonal National Chairman, South West, Chief George has stood firm with the party through thick and thin.
I have read the article written by a ‘concerned’ Gbenga Bright which, without mincing words sounds more like sponsored garbage than an article written by a party member who is abreast of the different crises the party has overcome over the years. ‘Mr concerned PDP member’ made his piece a tirade against Chief Bode George while attempting to disparage the current Chairman without giving any valid reasons. It is my belief that before you pick holes, you must show evidence of why the fabric should be discarded. You see, anyone given you the ‘what’ without telling you the ‘why’ is a cheap propagandist who simply wants to bamboozle the public into believing his fallacy.
However, without going into details of the lies carelessly woven to hoodwink the gullible, the fact remains that H.E Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s factional dominance on the two committees – the Disciplinary committee and reconciliation – is unacceptable!
However, Chief Bode George is right is expressing his distaste at the appointment of a relatively new member as chairman of the committee.
What we should ask ourselves is, does Chief Ikimi deserve the position?
Is it not a fact that Bode George was in the party before Tom ikimi with strong achievements to show for his membership? It is on record that as Zonal Chairman, he singlehandedly delivered five states to the PDP. Therefore, let it be clear that we can not continue to accept the shenanigans being carried out by very insincere people, in the name of party loyalty. Where have they been, what are their antecedents, what have they delivered or contributed to the existence of the party?
Yet, They contracted irresponsible, air-brained writers to spread the falsehood that Chief George was dancing to the tune of the G5! How absurd!
Thank God H.E Atiku himself affirmed that he, Atiku, gave Lagos to Tinubu.
Isn’t is high time PDP members stopped the internal wrangling and bond as one to face the next election? We must stop passing blame, sponsoring cut and join writers against one another and show the world that the party is ready to wrest power for the failed APC.
It is time we meet at the roundtable to discuss the future of the party rather than widening the existing factional palaver.
I expected our Acting National Chairman to live above board like Caesars wife.
