The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has taken action against a well-known supermarket in the Garki area of Abuja, Sahad Store, citing lack of transparency in pricing practices.

This development follows closely on the heels of President Bola Tinubu’s recent announcement of strategies to address the ongoing food crisis nationwide. In a collaborative effort between the Federal Government and state governors, a committee has been established to address issues such as product hoarding.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, revealed this initiative after a meeting convened by President Bola Tinubu, which included governors, heads of security agencies, and select ministers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Idris emphasized the government’s determination to combat the issue of hoarding, with security agencies instructed to work closely with governors to confront this challenge.
