Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has reportedly tabled a 19-point list of conditions before the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as negotiations begin over a possible extension of his contract.
Chelle, who signed a two-year deal with the NFF in January 2025 — with an optional additional year in the federation’s favour — is said to have formally presented the proposal on January 22, 2026, after what he described as “an in-depth investigation and fact-checking” of the document.
The Franco-Malian tactician is reportedly seeking a monthly salary of $130,000, a package that would cover himself, his technical crew and personal assistant.
According to reports, the coach’s demands go beyond remuneration, touching on logistics, welfare, technical autonomy and structural reforms within the national teams setup.
Among the key requests is the provision of a private SUV with chauffeur and security, as well as a house in a well-secured environment with 24-hour uninterrupted electricity. He also asked for a furnished office equipped with a projector for tactical analysis and reliable internet access.
Chelle is further demanding flight tickets for his wife and two children — business class for himself and his wife, and economy class for the children — alongside GPS facilities and the supply of training equipment in line with his technical requirements.
On sporting matters, the coach reportedly wants the right to determine international friendly matches based on the team’s opponents and preparation needs. He also proposed structured camping programmes and outlined plans to initiate youth development schemes.
The document also seeks provisions allowing him to travel regularly to monitor Nigerian players abroad and attend domestic league matches to identify talents for integration into the senior team, as well as the U23, U20 and U17 sides.
Crucially, Chelle is said to have insisted on “no interference in team selection and players’ call-ups,” while requesting formal working contracts for his backroom staff.
He also stipulated that salaries must be paid on or before the 30th of every month, with bonuses and allowances structured in line with federation policies — including coverage for his personal assistant.
Another notable demand is the introduction of monthly meetings involving all national team coaches to ensure alignment and coordination across various age-grade teams.
Chelle’s current deal runs until 2027, and discussions with the NFF are expected to determine whether the federation will agree to the extensive terms outlined in his proposal.
