President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election, unveiling a leadership lineup of top party and government figures.
President Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, both serving as Vice-Chairmen. Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, was appointed Secretary.
A major highlight of the council’s constitution is the return of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, who has been appointed Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring. In this role, Faleke will coordinate the campaign’s election-planning structure across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
Charging members of the council, President Tinubu urged them to work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC in the January 2027 election. He called on the campaign team to confidently showcase the administration’s achievements, inspire hope among Nigerians and mobilise support for the party.
“We have many achievements to trumpet, let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation,” Tinubu said.
The President also urged campaign leaders to reach out to APC members who were not formally included in the council, stressing that their contributions remain important to the party’s success.
The constitution of the council marks the formal commencement of the APC’s organisational machinery for the 2027 presidential campaign.
