The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful, urging Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and shared responsibility for national progress.

In a statement released in Abuja, Ike congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan, describing the fasting period as one of “deep reflection, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to humanity.”

She praised the discipline and devotion shown during the holy month, noting that such values promote peaceful coexistence and social harmony.

“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters, particularly media professionals, to uphold the virtues of patience, tolerance, generosity, and compassion cultivated during Ramadan,” she said.

Ike stressed that sustaining these values is key to strengthening unity and advancing Nigeria’s collective interest.

She further called on Nigerians across religious and ethnic divides to embrace mutual respect, adding that the country’s diversity remains a vital asset for national development.

The NUJ FCT chairman also encouraged acts of kindness toward the less privileged, reminding citizens that Eid is not just for celebration but also for sharing and empathy.

“Let us reach out to those in need and reaffirm our shared humanity,” she added.

She urged leaders to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice and service associated with Ramadan by promoting inclusive and accountable governance that prioritises citizens’ welfare.

Ike also advised Nigerians to celebrate responsibly in line with safety guidelines.

“On behalf of the NUJ FCT Council, I wish all Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and fulfilling Eid-el-Fitr. May this season bring renewed hope, unity, and prosperity to our nation,” she said.
