President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has granted approval for the indefinite suspension of Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in order to facilitate a thorough investigation into allegations of misconduct during his tenure.
The decision comes in light of serious accusations of abuse of power brought against him.
Mr. Bawa has been instructed to promptly transfer the responsibilities of his position to the Director of Operations within the Commission.
This interim arrangement will ensure the smooth functioning of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission until the investigation reaches its conclusion.
