
A petrol-laden tanker exploded at Karu Bridge along the Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi Road, causing widespread panic and destruction. Eyewitnesses reported that the inferno engulfed over 30 vehicles, with fears of multiple casualties.
“We heard a loud blast, and within seconds, flames spread across the road,” said Idris Musa, a commercial driver who narrowly escaped the explosion. “People were running in different directions, trying to save themselves.”
As of the time of this report, emergency responders, including fire service personnel and security officials, had yet to arrive at the scene. Frustrated residents and motorists attempted to douse the flames using makeshift methods.
“This is a major disaster,” said Amaka Eze, a passerby. “We need urgent intervention to prevent further loss of lives and property.”
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident, but the chaos continues as commuters remain stranded, and businesses in the vicinity suffer disruption.
