The Chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee in Ekiti, Hon. Dare Adeleke has raised the alarm over Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s alleged fraudulent activities and his attempts to deceive the people of the state.
In a statement, Adeleke stressed that Oyebanji should never be allowed back into Government House, as he has broken the trust of the people and, more importantly, has built his administration on lies and deceit.
The statement reads:
I believe it is time for the people of Ekiti to scrutinize the financial activities and recklessness of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who has drowned them in lies and drenched them in poverty; like pitiable chickens left under the rain.
Shocking revelations, backed by evidence, have exposed that Oyebanji has received over N500 billion from FAAC and what his finance team terms “Aids and Grants” over the last two years of his administration.
If you examine the documents provided therein, you will see that the last quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2025 are not even included in this sum. The total revenue recorded stands at N476,116,757,894.65, approximately N476 billion.
What this means is that over N500 billion, excluding allocations to the 16 local governments, has been received by Oyebanji’s administration. If local government allocations are factored in, Biodun Oyebanji would have squandered about N1 trillion in just two years.

Another damning revelation is that while Oyebanji repeatedly assures the people of Ekiti that he has never taken a loan, but private investigation reveals that the governor has allegedly taken over N60bn bonds; a fact uncovered by a certain journalist who has since become a victim of harassment.
For clarity, a bond is a debt instrument, a form of loan, where an issuer (such as a government or company) borrows money from an investor (the bondholder) and agrees to repay the principal amount, plus interest (the coupon), at a specified future date.
You can now see how the governor cunningly disguises these bonds as “aids and grants.”
This is clearly a 419 administration. This is the same governor who has boldly claimed that he has fulfilled 90% of his promises. If this is true, then Oyebanji must have promised the people nothing.
The governor is like the fabled character in a children’s book who sold ashes to the people, claiming it was sugar, and made them believe it was sweet, because no one wanted to admit they had never tasted sugar before… when the nobles agreed it was sweet out of shame, the commoners believed that was what sugar was supposed to taste like.
Ekiti people, will you be as foolish as the characters in that children’s book? How can a governor claim he has completed 90% of his promises, yet there is nothing to show for it? There are no functional hospitals, no road constructions, no industries, and your university is a glorified primary school in terms of infrastructure. Where is the N1 trillion, did it vaporize?
The only tangible thing Oyebanji can declare in two whole years is the money he has funneled into the pockets of his cronies and family. It is disgraceful that a man with such devious tendencies, who has zero regard for his people, whose hands are filthy from looting public funds, and who has plunged Ekiti into ruin, has the audacity to seek a second term!
A certain politician once said that leaders should be stoned if they fail to perform. I am not asking you to stone Oyebanji. I am cautioning you against re-electing such a dishonorable and inhumane man as governor. Oyebanji has failed on all fronts. He is building castles in the air because there is nothing on the ground to justify the colossal sums he has squandered.
I have attached the documents to this post. Say NO to Biodun Oyebanji in 2026. He must be resisted with every ounce of strength the people can muster.
Oyebanji is synonymous with fraud, corruption, cronyism, greed, disregard for the people, extreme poverty, arrogance, and FAILURE.
Ekiti has seen corruption in the corridors of power, but the level of looting under Oyebanji is unprecedented.
