Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja.

The suspects were apprehended on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Joyous Hotel in the Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, following credible intelligence linking them to cybercrime activities.

In a statement on Monday, the EFCC said the operation was part of its ongoing crackdown on internet-related offences.

“Acting on actionable intelligence, our operatives stormed Joyous Hotel in Nyanya and arrested 74 individuals suspected to be involved in internet fraud,” the statement read.

Items recovered during the operation include 86 mobile phones, one pistol, and three motorcycles.

The Commission assured the public that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

“The EFCC remains committed to ridding the country of cybercriminals and bringing perpetrators to justice,” the statement added.
