In a sweeping move, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has officially dissolved the executives of all boards, agencies, and parastatals within the Edo State Public Service.
Announced today, the governor’s decision takes immediate effect and applies broadly to political appointees, including permanent secretaries appointed from outside the state’s public or civil service.
“Governor Okpebholo is committed to streamlining governance and ensuring that our public institutions function efficiently,” said Hon. Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State Governor, in an official statement.
“The governor believes this measure is necessary to refocus our administration’s priorities.”
The announcement instructs all affected officials to relinquish any government property in their possession to the most senior public officer within their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
“This process will ensure a smooth transition and uphold accountability within Edo State’s public service,” Itua added.
This dissolution represents a significant reshuffling within the Edo State government as it continues its mission to prioritize effective governance and sustainable development.
