Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the ongoing remedial works on the Ekpoma section of the Benin Expressway, praising the President’s commitment to infrastructure development.

Governor Okpebholo, during an inspection of the road alongside Edo APC Chairman Emperor Jarret Tenebe and other top officials, described the progress as impressive and a testament to the government’s resolve to deliver the dividends of democracy. “I am very honored and happy seeing this road now with the work going on,” the governor stated.

“This is how to know a man who is working for his country. The President promised he would fix this road, which had been abandoned for years, and today, he has matched his words with actions. The Esan people and Edo people in general are happy with this development.”

The governor emphasized the significance of the project, highlighting how the once-impassable road had disrupted productivity and caused undue hardship. “We thank the President for what he is doing for Edo people, including fixing this road. It has been a major concern for years, and now it is passable again,” he said. “I will continue to monitor the progress here to ensure the project is completed to the benefit of our people.”

Governor Okpebholo also recalled his discussion with President Tinubu about the road, noting, “The President had asked me about this road when I met him, and I assured him the work was ongoing. I’m confident he will be pleased with the progress so far.”

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Fred Itua, emphasized that the inspection underscores the state government’s dedication to ensuring impactful governance under the APC-led administration.

The developmental strides on the Ekpoma section of the Benin Expressway mark another step in improving infrastructure across the state, reinforcing President Tinubu’s promise of positive transformation for Nigerians.
